The Kenyan Coast is a haven for beach lovers. The white sandy beaches stretch for miles and the crystal blues waters are perfect for swimming in all year round.
To the south of the Island port of Mombasa is Kenya’s longest stretch of beach, the famed Diani Beach. Diani is dotted with world class hotels and resorts with something suitable for everyone.
From here, Wasini Island is a popular excursion where you can swim with dolphins and enjoy a seafood feast on the pristine island. The Shimba Hills National Park is not very far away and it’s the perfect spot to watch the sun go down or enjoy some game viewing if you feel the need for a break from the beach.
To the north of Mombasa are the beaches of Kilifi, Watamu and Malindi. These are perhaps less popular than Diani but are nevertheless just as beautiful with lots of offer. The fishing is particularly good in the north.
Lamu is even further north. It is a special place with a strong Oriental influence; in fact Lamu is perfect for those who want a bit of culture on their beach holiday.
